Overview

If you find yourself wandering through the heart of Semarang, a culinary gem awaits at Loenpia Mataram Om Wid, located on Jl. MT. Haryono No.481. This restaurant offers an authentic taste of the city’s renowned traditional dish—Loenpia, or lumpia—deeply rooted in local heritage and perfected over generations.

At the core of Loenpia Mataram Om Wid’s menu lie their signature Loenpia and Lumpia Goreng, highlighting the famed spring rolls that are a symbol of Semarang’s culinary identity. The filling, a fragrant blend of tender sliced bamboo shoots mixed with ebi and tofu, wrapped delicately in thin pangsit sheets, exemplifies a balance of texture and flavor. These rolls are often enjoyed fried, delivering a crisp exterior with a savory, umami-packed interior. Just as customers like Tifa Asrianti noted, these treats are freshest eaten within a day after frying, preserving the integral taste and texture.

The restaurant itself offers more than just food; it offers a connection to tradition. As a fourth-generation establishment tracing back to Tan Yok Kie’s legacy, Loenpia Mataram Om Wid carries historical culinary expertise that embraces both authenticity and innovation. Regular patrons such as Mieta BS appreciate not just the great flavor but also the welcoming atmosphere and attentive, friendly staff—qualities that elevate the overall dining experience.

While the space remains cozy and modest, it perfectly suits loenpia lovers and locals seeking genuine flavors combined with modern convenience like debit card payments. Whether you are a longtime fan or new to this culinary delight, visiting Loenpia Mataram Om Wid is a chance to savor the essence of Semarang's culture through its food, served with a touch of heartfelt hospitality.

For enthusiasts wanting a true taste of Indonesia’s rich street food tradition, this spot in Semarang Tengah delivers consistently. It’s an inviting place where heritage and quality meet—ideal for those who appreciate culinary craftsmanship in every bite.

A shop to buy lunpia, a local delicacy of Semarang. Made from sliced bamboo shoots cooked with ebi and tofu and then wrapped by pangsit sheet, lunpia is only good for a few days when not fried and only good for one day after it is fried.
